Game Description & Reviews:
Golden Sun (U)(Mode7) is a Game Boy Advance game that was created and published by Nintendo. This game is about Issac and his allies, ready to fight in order to save the world from harm.
Pontinho rates this game: 5/5The game is a true showcase title in graphics and sound. There is room for improvement though. Sometimes conversations are too lengthy and it's not possible to immediately skip the whole conversation. Also, during fight sequences your characters do not by default go to the next enemy if the one you targeted for the character to kill is killled by another one of your party members. Other than that it's a worthy title to have in your GBA collection.
James rates this game: 5/5In a dark time, an epic adventure begins as evil slowly envelops the world! The forces of darkness are pursuing the lost art of Alchemy, and as they draw ever closer to their foul purpose, mankind's future hangs in the balance. You and your companions are the last hope: armed with noble weapons, mysterious Psynergy and a host of elemental creatures, you must find a way to stem the evil tide. Your ordinary life is over, as a Golden Sun rises above you and forever broadens your horizon!
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 3/5An excellent RPG to add to any collection.
The gameplay of Golden Sun is very unique. I've played many RPG's but have yet to see anything like this one. The use of Djinn alone is a very unique system (you find creatures called djinni along your quest and they help you in various ways) Also the puzzles that you have to solve in each dungeon seems to be uniquely to the Golden Sun series. I found this to be so cool, which made golden sun practically my dream game - the puzzles of Zelda and the RPG/storyline quality of Final Fantasy all in one.
I have to say that this game was not as good as it's sequels. Personally, I felt that the story lacked as well as the gameplay. Also, this game is harder than both golden suns 2 and 3. I never found it overly difficult, and never had to stop and level up to progress, but some boss fights were rather challenging, and I got the game over screen several times (which, to be honest seems like in order to be a good RPG, you've got to see that at least that often).
Overall, this was an excellent game and I would highly recommend it to any RPG or golden sun fan.
Golden sun is easily one of my favorite RPGs ever, and definitely the best on GBA (besides it's sequel, The Lost Age!)
You play as Isaac, a boy living in the town of Vale which is shadowed by Mt. Aleph. What makes Isaac extraordinary is he is one of the few adepts in Weyard, that is, he can use Psynergy. Psynergy is basically what this game uses instead of magic, they are effects which you use in battle and sometimes in the world that cost PP, which is basically mana.
The best part of Golden sun is the dungeons that you encounter in the game. You use Psynergy outside of battle to affect the environment and solve puzzles.
You also encounter Djinn, small creatures that enhance your combat abilities through stats and by releasing them, activating a power. For example, during battle you can release a Djinn to damage and enemy, but you lose the stats that it provided you. Depending on the amount of Djinn released, you can summon a very powerful being that deals a ton of damage.
Djinn are basically what adds variety to the combat. There are multiple strategies you can use to fight a boss. You can put your Djinn on standby before a fight so you can summon immediately, you can release each Djinn during battle and activate the abilities as you see fit, then summon for a finisher, you can simply keep the Djinn active and fight just using Psynergy, or you can use a combination. It adds a level of depth that no other turn based RPG replicates.
Djinn can change you abilities as well. If you equip earth elemental Djinn to your Earth adept, then his abilites with strengthen for each Djinn equipped, and he might gain new Psynergy. However, if you attach a fire Djinn to the same earth Adpet, he will lose his stats and psynergy and take on completely different ones. You have to expiriment to find the right combination!
Overall, I would recommend Golden Sun to any fan of RPGs, or even just someone looking for a satisfying experience on the GBA.

shinomori rates this game: 5/5For the lovers of the Classic RPG Style, the sun rises up again on the nintendo DS with this game.
After a very long wait of 7 years for the continuation of the last version, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, this game came to drive the fans of the serie crazy.
One of the best RPG games for the Nintendo DS, this game mix the best things that all RPGs have. Battles in turn with a tremendous 3d graphic, beautifull spells, a incredible history, and the main attraction of this title, the summons.
The summons of this game take the whole two screens of the system, with fantastics animations.
This game is simply perfect, you'll not get disappointed!

rates this game: 4/5Golden Sun Dark Dawn is the third game in the Golden Sun franchise. In my personal experience in Golden Sun, (the first game) it followed the basic RPG methods. A hero, his party of loyal friends, journeying through vast seas and scorching deserts, for a noble cause. Unique weapons, armors, and skills, or Psynergy. Because I didn't finish the first game, I was afraid to try Dark Dawn, but the game is completely unique that you don't need to play the first game to enjoy it. It lays everything down to basics so you can get immersed quickly, and it works. Although if you're an experienced RPG player and know the ins and outs, some features come unnecessary. Nonetheless, the Psynergy mechanic is incredible, the dialogue is great, the story is amazing and the battles are challenging. Undoubtedly one of the best RPGs ever, as always from Golden Sun games.
Pontinho rates this game: 5/5Pokemon Golden Sun Gba Rom Download
After going dark six years ago, 2010 will see a new dawn. Golden Sun DS updates the popular portable Golden Sun role-playing series with an impressive graphical style. This installment follows the story of the previous heroes' descendants and immerses players into the magic of its adventure by pushing the boundaries of intuitive touch-screen controls.
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 5/5I was at first unsure of trying the game out, as I've played so many RPG's that have not lived up to their expectations. This game will definitely not disappoint you.
The gameplay is very fun and addicting. You have the classical RPG style with an added in twist of puzzle solving (which if you're a Zelda fan like myself you will love it.). The battles aren't overly difficult, and you won't find yourself having to stop and level up to continue to progress through the game. Personally, I find this nice. As it drives me crazy having to stop in the middle of an adventure to go off and level up.
Unlike the 2 previous Golden Sun games, this sequel was a bit easier overall (puzzles, battles, etc) but I didn't find it overly easy or annoying. But if you like to really put your skills to the test, this game might not be for you.
I can only say wonderful things about this game. The storyline is sensational, the characters are memorable, and the gameplay is amazing. The soundtrack for Dark Dawn is awesome as well. Some of the original golden sun songs are used along with a whole new set, which is refreshing.
This game is a must for any die-hard RPG or Golden Sun fan. I can safely say this was the best RPG I've ever played.
